Materials:

Weight 4 acrylic yarn

Darning needle

Scissors

Size H/5mm hook

Stitches:

single crochet sc

chain ch

double crochet dc

slip stitch slst

Pattern:

Measure around the smallest part of your pot. Mine are terracotta so they’re smaller on the bottom and bigger around the opening – if your pot is the same size around the top/middle/bottom, you can just measure around the middle.

Make a ch equal to the length around your pot in a multiple of 3.

When I made the first few versions of this, it ended up being way too big. Your yarn will stretch, so as long as your starting chain is the correct length, don’t worry much about it being too tight and err on the side of keeping it snug.

Row 1: For mine, I’m going to ch33 which is about 9in in length.

Slst to the ch1, keeping the ch facing the correct way.

*Pause and check how it fits around your pot*

Row 2: Sc in each stitch around (33). Slst to beginning sc.

Row 3: Ch3. Dc1 in the same st. Sk2. Dc3. Sk2. Dc3.

Finish with 1 Dc in the first cluster. Slst to the top of the ch 3.

Rows 4+: Tie in new color in a ch-sp and ch3. Dc1 in the same ch-sp.

Ch3 in each ch-sp around, ending with a ch3 in the ch-sp you started in.

Slst to the top of the ch3.

Repeat Row 4 until you reach your desired height.

Sew in your ends, and you’re done!

Please tag me in any photos of your finished items, I would love to see them! @stellarthreadsbymadison
